Early Life and Beginnings
Tom Cruise whose full name is Thomas Cruise Mapother IV was born on July 3rd 1962 in Syracuse New York and his childhood life proved to be shaky. His father, an electrical engineer, never had much time for him; his mother, a nurse, was eventually diagnosed with mental illness. Perhaps these early difficulty contributed to development of a determined and driven personality characteristic of Cruise.
As a young boy he was quiet and had a slender built, during his childhood days he was not a strong boy at all. He sought to rise his self-esteem and at the age of 14 he joined acting classes to achieve this. He also started performing at an early age especially in stage shows that built the passion in him. Following graduation from anxiety, Cruise went to the United States to attend acting school, and later got a job in Los Angeles.
Rise to Stardom
Cruise was given his big break by the producer, mekennam with the ‘Risky Business’ in 1983, wherein he played a young man who is left alone in his home and the film made him a star. The following years witnessed him setting up himself as the leading man in the movies such as “Top Gun” (1986) and “Cocktail” (1988). These movies exposed him to the world and depicted him as a charismatic, athletic, and a very bright screen talent.
The late ‘80s and 90s continued to establish him as the ultimate box office magnet. The 1988 film Rain Man as well as the 1989 movie Born on the Fourth of July and the 1992 movie A Few Good Men show the ability of the actor who received critical acclamation and multiple academy award nominations.
Global Superstardom
In each of the films, Tom Cruise’s stardom kept on rising up. He became a world icon owing to his high energy action scenes and his added bonus of being a handsome lover boy. The “Mission: ”Impossible” franchise starting in 1996 added itself to Cruise who continued to deliver brave stunts and true physicality to the screen.
Cruise just before 2000 started to follow this trend of producing and acting in block buster movies which include jerry Maguire 1996 , eyes Wide Shut for 1999, Vanilla Sky for 2001. However, he became more involved with the Church of Scientology, which eventually become a problem and interfered with his image.
Controversies and Resilience
Public perception plummeted and struck the actor as his support of Scientology was vocal and clear. This notwithstanding, he stuck to his work, and going on to produce more blockbusters. Such movies as the “War of the Worlds” (2005) and “Knight and Day” (2010) proved that he continues to remain popular among the spectators.
Indeed, in the recent past, there has been a revival of Cruise. The “Mission: The “Impossible” franchise remained to be strong, each of the sequels recording impressive collection at the box office. This has gained him fame and some admiration from his fans as well as critics due to his willingness to do most of the stunts himself.
Fame is another element that goes together with action – a kind of action that gives a legacy to which one’s name can be attached and which, as a result, will last for generations.
Tom Cruise’s career story as an icon of the show-biz industry is not only a prove of his talent, hard work, and passion toward the acting job. Since then he climbed the ladder from the ground barefoot to one of the most celebrated superstars of the globe he faced the setbacks and still provided the entertainment doses to the audience.
